EOTD 18 - 27th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

I've decided to rename my posts "EOTD" which stands for Earrings of the Day and I just thought that this sounded better than "Earrings No. ..." (which if I'm being honest had been bugging me since I first started using it) so I just thought I'd update you on the new name in case there was any confusion! And of course I want to keep you updated on everything anyway!

So here are today's EOTD:

They are the thicker pair of gold hoops that I have just hauled that I got at the weekend! I won't go in to too much detail about them because I have just hauled them (you can see the haul post here) and as I put in that post, they are pretty self-explanatory!

I just had to throw in the "pose" photo that I took - I even made it my new IG profile picture!

So as a whole, I really like the way these earrings look and I loved them with the outfit that I wore today (jeans, black owl t-shirt and black flats ... oh and the diamonte sunglasses of course)! I just think they are such a classic style that they can really be worn with anything, but the thickness of the earrings gives them a new twist!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Mini Earrings Haul!

Hiya Everyone!

I mentioned in my last post that on Saturday my Nan bought me a set of new gold hoops - so I thought that I'd do a mini haul of them so that you can see the new pairs!

The set consists of 3 pairs of gold hoops in varying sizes and designs - here is the first:

This pair of gold hoops are the littlest and the simplest - they have what I'd class as a "proper" clasp (as in they're not studs) and all of the earrings in this set have the same clasp! There really isn't a lot to say about this hoops: they are simple, reasonably lightweight and your "classic" gold hoop!

Here the second pair in the set:

As you can see, this pair in design is identical to the first hoops but the difference is the thickness (the actual hoop size is exactly the same)! This pair isn't overly or extremely large, they are still very wearable, but they are obviously thicker than the first pair and (as perhaps expected) this pair is slightly heavier due to their thickness!

The last pair look like this:

This pair is the same thickness as the first, but the design on these are different - instead of being smooth these have a twisted, rope-style pattern to them (which I think makes them look even more classic and lovely)! This pair is super lightweight and just really effortlessly classic - a combination which is always great to find in a pair of earrings!

So, overall I am very happy to add these earrings to my collection and I am super excited to actually wear them! So "thank you Nan" for enabling my obsession ;)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 16 and No. 17 - 24/25.05.13.

Hi Everyone!

I'm sorry for not posting an "Earrings of the Day" yesterday - I got a bit waylaid! But I have yesterday's pair and today's pair for you now!

So starting off with the pair that I wore yesterday:

These are little silver and black earrings that have 3 little black gems at the top, a silver bead halfway down the rod and then a big black gem at the bottom. I wore these as they are super easy and lightweight, although I must admit that they aren't my favourite pair of earrings and I don't wear them a lot! I can't put my finger on what it is about these earrings that make me not so sure about them, but there is definitely something!

I mean, I think they look absolutely fine when actually being worn - there is just something about them that makes me not want to wear them!

The pair I wore today however, I really enjoy:

These earrings came as a part of a set (with a necklace, which you'll see in a photo below) and they are just really simple gold earrings shaped almost like the "infinity" symbol! They are super lightweight, super easy-going and just a nice, classic pair of gold earrings that can really be worn with any outfit, for any occasion - which makes me like them all the more!

I really, really like these earrings and think that they really are effortless and easy to wear!

I don't normally wear sets together (at the same time) as I'm always a bit uncertain as to whether or not the outfit will look too odd or too put-together, but today I though "why not?" so I did! And I actually really enjoyed wearing the necklace and the matching earrings - I think it really tied my outfit all together and I loved the look of them together!

My Nan bought me a few new gold hoops today, so I'll try and post a haul of the hoops asap for you to see!

Earrings No.15 - 23rd May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Today's post is going to be super quick as I only wore earrings for a short part of the day and they are a really simple pair that look like this:

These earrings are little pearl studs and that really is everything there is to say about them - they are super lightweight, super easy-going and very simple, but with a certain classic elegance about them!

I'm sorry about the length of this post, but this particular pair of earrings are pretty self-explanatory!

Earrings No. 14 - 22nd May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Today has been the weirdest day weather wise - it's been really muggy and cloudy (dark and grey) all day and then this afternoon at around 4pm, the sun came out and it got crazy-warm! But it is only typical English weather I guess.

Today's earrings are much more fun and brighter than the weather has been and I think they add a lovely little pop of colour to any outfit!

I apologise for the dark photo - I had hoped it would "brighten" on the computer screen!

These earrings are very bright and just remind me of summer and fun and everything that accompanies summer and fun! They are a gold circle adorned with a purple outer ring and a blue gem middle ring all surrounding a pinky-purple gem. Considering how small they are (and they are very small and lightweight) they pack a shockingly-good amount of colour and are almost a show-stopper pair of earrings.

In this brighter photo you can really see the colours for what they are - amazing! Sometimes I think it's better to wear your hair up (or to the side) when wearing little earrings like these, as if you have long or think hair they can get a little lost - and when they look as good as this pair do, you definitely don't want them to get lost in a sea of hair! (That being said, I would also totally wear them with my hair down ;) lol - there's never a bad time to wear these earrings).

I really enjoy the style and the impact of these earrings - I just think they're really interesting and unique, without having to put a lot of effort in! So I must say that it really is all thumbs-up with these earrings!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 13 - 21st May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Firstly, let me apologise for not posting yesterday - it was just one of those long, hectic days and I didn't get a spare 5 minutes to myself to do anything! So I'm sorry.

Right, on to the earrings!

These earrings tend to be a quick "go-to" pair for me (especially when I'm in a rush) and it's going to be hard not "quickly going-to" them now that I'm doing this challenge! They are a dark silver in colour and in terms of design, they always remind me of an acorn leaf! I find them easy because they are simple, somewhat classic and just go with everything.

Originally, these earrings had another few "rows" of leaves attached (they were very long and rested on my shoulder) but I decided one day - as you do - that they would look a lot better with one leaf and I took them apart! I think that's one of the things that I love about earrings, they are adjustable to your own individual test  - not keen on feathers: take them off, too long: take a row out, too many beads on a hoop: take some off - it's all give and take for what suits you best; and this pair is a classic example of this (I only wish I had a "before" picture to show you all, but unfortunately I dismembered them years ago)!

These earrings are super simple, lightweight and easy-going - I really enjoy their simplicity and find that they are the perfect pair for if you are in a rush. I also really enjoy the acorn leaf design :) I think it's something unique and interesting!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

New Look Earrings Haul!

Hi Everyone!

Since starting this blog I've had such an urge to buy new earrings (and do a haul) and today was my first real opportunity to do so. I was shopping in town and popped into New Look to have a look at their sale, but of course I couldn't resist checking out the jewellery sale too! So I picked up 4 new pairs of earrings to add to the collection :) This is just a brief overview of each pair, along with some photos, as they'll be appearing in their own blog-posts at some point when I wear them. (I'll just mention quickly that all of the pairs were either £2 or £2.50 in price - so quick affordable).

So, I'll start off with these gorgeous gold and pearl design stud earrings:

These earrings are gorgeous and the gold detailing is so intricate that it is stunning. They are rather large and felt quite heavy - so I'll have to consider that when it comes time to actually wear them, but just in terms of their appearance I love them already!

The next pair that I picked up were these were these little gold and diamond studs:

Again, the detail on these is gorgeous - they have a plain gold bottom section and then a patterned gold top section, separated by a row of gems.

The next pair that I picked up were these chandelier-style gold and yellow toned diamond earrings:

I find these earrings really interesting and unusual because the diamonds themselves have this kind of yellow or gold-tone to them and it's not necessarily expected (you'd perhaps think it was a gold back showing through and tinting them that way), but at the same time in certain lights the diamonds can also appear pink in tone. These earrings are me all-over, so I am super excited about wearing these!

This next pair just did not want to photograph for anything - seriously, I must have taken about 10 photos and only 1 looked good! That being said, they are stunning in person - they are so sparkly and just generally shiny that they immediately catch your eye, even though they're only little in size (which is a major plus if you ask me)! These earrings are silver and they have a row of diamond-gems running through the middle of a silver spiral:

(I know they're not earrings, but I also picked up this gorgeous handchain that I thought I'd show you quickly:

How pretty is that!).

So overall I am super excited about all the new earrings I bought - I think they'll look stunning for spring and summer and I can't wait to wear them this year! So look out for them in future posts where you'll get more information and more detailed pictures about them!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 12 - 18th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Saturday :)

The earrings that I wore today consisted of a gold "hoop" (the hoop that isn't a hoop) and on the hoop section are 4 sets of different beads - mostly in shades of purple. They are actually larger and heavier than the photo makes them appear though:

The little beads and gems are all different sizes, shapes and slightly different shades of the same colour (purple). When wearing the earrings (as you'll see in the photo below) all of the beads hang together at the bottom of the hoop and make it look like their is actually only one big bead attached to the hoop - which I'm not the greatest fan of in all honesty.

The individual beads on the earrings:

The earrings being worn:

I have to be honest and state that these earrings are definitely not one of my favourite pairs - I like the idea of them, but in terms of practicality, they are heavy and don't look as good on as they do when you're just looking at them. I don't hate these earrings as a whole and I do think that with the right outfit and for the right situation or occasion they can look very nice - I just also know that I have pairs that I prefer in my collection.

Earrings No. 11 - 16th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Today has been a lovely sunny day and the sun is definitely most welcome - it feels like we've had nothing but rain for months and months. But anyway, today's earrings where these cute little black pair:

These earrings are very simple and cute - they consist of two short rods (of different lengths, but "short" in length overall) and have a black bead at the bottom of each rod. The rods are black in colour and have a silver top.

They are of a medium length and are very lightweight - they are another pair where you can forget that you are wearing them! There really isn't much that can be said about these earrings, they are simple, cute, easy-going and just overall a nice pair of earrings!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 10 - 15th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Today I went to see "Star Trek (2) Into Darkness" at the cinema and I cannot tell you how much I loved it - it was amazing and it has left me wanting a third film so desperately! Even if you're not a trekkie I think it's a film that everyone can love.

I also can't believe that I'm already at my "tenth pair" mark - when I think about the 10 earrings I've worn and then my collection as a whole, it does put the size of my collection into perspective! ;)

Because I went to the cinema and met with a friend I decided to wear a pair of Russian Doll earrings (because of course that makes total sense - see friends = wear Russian Doll earrings):

They are (predominantly) a beautiful shade of red and are adorned with roses on the "dress" section of the doll - there is so much intricate detail on the face and body sections that they are really stunning to look at. In design, the earrings are segmented into four pieces and have little gaps in between each segment. The exterior detail is gold and the links in between each section are gold as well.

When wearing them, the earrings hang really nicely and are of medium size and weight - because they are segmented, you can almost feel each piece moving separately from the others and they have a definite "swing" to them (which I love)!

They definitely add a little something extra to an outfit and from my experience they can be very eye-catching - I think the design is something that is a little unexpected in a pair of earrings! I really wish that I had these earrings in different colours (for instance a blue doll instead of red) as I think they are very versatile, they can be worn with a simple outfit to dress the look up or they can be worn with an already dressed-up outfit.

As a  whole, the colour and overall look of these earrings is definitely unusual and to me, very appealing - after all, Russian Doll earrings aren't something that you tend to see on a day-to-day basis!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 9 - 14th May 2013.

Hiya Guys!

The weather has been so wet and miserable today that I decided to go pretty simple with my earrings:

Today I went with a simple pair of gold hoops - there's not much to say about them really, they are an "average" sized hoop and they are fairly easy to wear. I would call them a classic gold colour - they're not rose gold or a tinted gold, but more of the traditional gold colour.

(My attempt at being creative/artistic with the photographs - I'm still working on it!)

As I said, they are average sized and are very thin - they almost have the thickness (or rather thinness) of a coin, they definitely aren't very large or very thick. I'm not always convinced that hoops look the best on me (for some reason I think that they look like they point out at funny angles and just don't work) so normally I would only really wear hoops with my hair down, however I did like the way these classic hoops looked with my hair in a bun - a look that I would definitely try again with other hoops that I have!

I hope you enjoyed the post and thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 8 - 13th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful start to the week - Monday's aren't always the happiest or best day of the week, so I hope your's has been filled with magic!

I didn't post anything yesterday as it was Sunday and I decided to spend the day rearranging my wardrobe and sorting my room out - it was definitely quite a challenge and it still isn't completely finished! Today, I had some errands to run and this gave me a chance to wear another pair of earrings:

These earrings are very little and super light in weight - they are predominantly silver, but have black mixed in with silver aspects. They are definitely a pair of earrings where the colour very much depends on how you look at them, the angle you look at them from and how the sun is shining on them - a lot of variables that impact how fond I am of these earrings! Don't get me wrong, I like the earrings but I get a little put-off by the way that the silver and black are mixed and how they are almost hard to define (if that makes sense?!) - I can't even seem to write how I feel about these earrings in a coherent manner; they just leave me uncertain and speechless (but not in the good, "wow" meaning of the word)!

The photos above highlight how even each earring is different from the other! I really like the design and I actually have this style of earring - I like to think of them as like a snowman, with two little "beads" - in many different colours, but for some reason this pair just don't really do it for me! Maybe if I was wearing a black and silver outfit I would feel completely differently, but as it is they definitely are not my favourite pair of earrings by any means.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 7 - 11th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend - even if the weather is rubbish like it is here!

Anyway, I didn't post anything yesterday as my plans changed at the last minute and I didn't leave the house in the end (and therefore I didn't wear any earrings)! Today however, I did wear a pair of earrings and they look like this:

They are a silver "hoop" style earring (although as you can see they aren't actually hoops) and they have this intricate pattern of circles at the top of the "hoop" - in the circles are little purple gems and the purple colour is absolutely gorgeous! I wore these earrings with my jeans, a grey cardigan and a purple t-shirt and I think they were a lovely addition to the purple of my t-shirt - they have a simple, yet really elegant and intricate design that looks really different and interesting when you're actually wearing the earrings!

The earrings aren't quite shoulder-length, but they are quite a large "hoop" - in terms of weight, they are fairly average (as in they aren't light, but they definitely aren't the heaviest pair of earrings I own)!

Sometimes I can't quite decide how I feel about these earrings - on some occasions I look at them and love them, but I can also look at them and not be certain how I feel about them. On paper they are lovely and interesting, however I can also look at them and feel as though they are a bit too "odd" and I get confused about my feelings - I think they are definitely a pair that look better on and in photos than they do in front of you! As a whole though, I was impressed with how they suited the outfit I wore and with how they looked on - especially with how they looked on in the photo above!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 6 - 9th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

I attended a funeral today of a dear old lady who used to own the house that I lived in with my family. I wore a "classic" black dress and I wanted to keep my jewellery and accessories as simple as possible - so I opted  for these little silver studs:

These studs were super, super difficult to photograph and part of the problem is because of the pattern on them - they have what I can only really describe as "dents" in them (all over the face of the stud) and this means that the light reflects off of the earrings in a way that makes photography them tricky.

The earrings do photograph somewhat better when actually being worn though. They have quite a large "face" and as you can see from the photo, it actually covers my second ear piercing that is usually above it! This isn't particularly a problem for me though as the benefits of wearing studs outweighs this issue - as with most studs, they are lightweight and really easy to wear. As with the studs I wore yesterday (and after wearing studs two days in a row, when yesterday I stated that I never wear them - I've managed to contradict myself in the first week) they have an easy elegance and style to them that I enjoy in a pair of earrings.

So on a whole, these are an interesting pair of studs that look stylish and have a unique twist in the way that they reflect light - making them appear differently in different lights.

I hope you like the earrings and the post and thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 5 - 8th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

Today was a very relaxed kind of day so I decided to wear some simple studs:

These are very little silver, heart-shaped studs that have a simple, but detailed pattern. They are super, super lightweight (as you would probably expect with studs) and in my opinion they are really cute and stylish.

When wearing them, they are barely noticeable, but they have a classic, delicate appearance to them that really makes them stand out. On my relaxed day, I wore these earrings with a plain pink t-shirt and a pair of jeans - they suited the outfit perfectly, but they can also really suit a more dressed-up outfit as well.

I'll be honest and admit that I don't wear studs very often (as I do tend to prefer my bigger, "sparklier" earrings), but it is only after I wear a pair of studs that I remember/realise how much I actually enjoy the style - they don't require any fuss and now you can purchase some very, very nice shapes and styles! Because I don't wear studs very often, I don't own that many pairs, but these earrings do make me want to buy and wear more stud earrings.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 4 - 7th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying the warm, sunny weather. Today's earrings look like this:

These earrings are very simple - they are little hoop-like earrings (they're not actual hoops in the traditional sense, but they have a hoop-like shape) and on the hoops are little clear, almost silvery-grey beads; the actual hoop is made of a silver metal. The earrings are of a reasonable size and they are super lightweight, you don't even realise you have any earrings on! The picture below shows what the earrings look like actually on:

As you can see from the photo, these earrings are very delicate and dainty. They are easy-going and I think they look very nice with my hair down, but also when I put my hair up - they are earrings that pretty much go with everything (which in my opinion makes them all the better - who wouldn't want multi-purpose earrings?!).

I hope you like the post and thanks for stopping by! :)

Earrings No. 3 - 6th May 2013.

Hi Everyone!

If you are in the UK, I hope you've all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend (and if you're elsewhere in the world, I hope you've had a good start to the week). Here are the earrings that I wore today:

These earrings consist of two long silver rods that have gems at the end - on the end of one is a big diamond gem and the other rod have a ball of diamonds attached to the other end (and at the top where the rods connect is an additional little diamond gem). These earrings are super lightweight and the longest rod (the one with the ball of diamonds on the end) just rests on my neck - which isn't a particular problem for me. Here is a close-up view of the gems at the bottom of the earrings:

Today was the first real day of "Spring" for us in the UK (the first day that the weather has been anywhere near decent) and I wore a flower-print maxi dress - these earrings really worked to add a little bit of sparkle to the outfit and I matched them with a big, diamond-themed silver bracelet. The super nice thing about these earrings is the fact that you can forget your wearing them - I wore them all day and by the end of the day I didn't feel like the earrings had wore me down (which can happen with some heavier pairs of earrings). As a whole, they require no fuss and are, in my opinion, are very classic.

A photo of me actually wearing the earrings:

I hope you enjoyed the post and thanks for stopping by! :)
